Abstract

Recent damage to dark coniferous forests in the Baikal region, which were not previously noted in the region, have an unclear etymology and undefined scales, and are therefore referred to as "new" diseases. In weakened forests, the negative effect of fungi-micromycetes and insect pests is likely to increase. Particular danger is the significant reduction in the level of atmospheric humidification of these forests, which can lead to their mass destruction of forests.
