Abstract

The biological activity of 1-(carboxy)-1-(N-acetylamino)-2-(3 ', 5'-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propionate sodium (sodium anphen) and 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy-phenyl potassium propionate (potassium phenosan) was studed. It was shown that in conditions of water deficiency 10-6 M potassium phenosan and 10-13 M sodium anphen prevented the activation of LPO in mitochondrial membranes of etiolated pea seedlings and prevented nhibition of seedling growth, which may be due to antioxidant activity of the preparations.
